Charles Manson
One of the most well known killers, recognizable by almost all, Charles Manson led a cult of people, notably Susan Atkins to carry out what he called 'Operation Helter Skelter'. The plan was to keep himself and his cult alive from a 'mass uprising' in which his people and the 'Chosen Blacks' would survive. Charles remains in prison, as does Susan, and Charles has admitted that should he ever get his freedom, he will kill again.
His motive was most likely to get revenge on the husband of Sharon Tate, who had ripped off Manson earlier. Also, it was most likely just for the apparent 'fun of the chase.'
